the media is still all over the killing of osama bin laden. most reports center around whether they should release the images of his dead body, whether pakistan knew were he was hiding and whether al qaeda will soon be launching some sort of revenge attack. same speculations in different shapes and sizes. the opinion pages of the newspapers are were i usually find my most interesting pieces of information and insight and below is a great article by matthew norman from the independent newspaper about the gamble obama took last week and how he has reminded most of us why we voted for him.

in other breaking news - rival palestinian factions fatah and hamas have proclaimed a landmark, egyptian-mediated reconciliation pact aimed at ending their bitter four-year rift. the pact provides for the creation of a joint palestinian government ahead of elections next year.
